10 Poisonous Items for Cats

Here is a list of  10 poisonous items for your pet cat.  If your cat has ingested any of these items a) attempt to figure out what they ingested find the label with ingredient list if possible b) how much did your cat ingest c) approximately what time did your cat ingest the item d) call your vet or an emergency vet hospital and follow their instructions.

 

1)      Ibuprofen or naproxen  can cause ulcers in the stomach and digestive system and kidney damage

2)      Acetaminophen causes red blood cell damage, can be fatal

3)      Antidepressants may cause vomiting and other serious problems

4)      Methylphenidate  (ADHD drug)  acts as a stimulant in cats

5)      Onions can irritate the digestive system and damage red blood cells

6)      Garlic can irritate the digestive system and damage red blood cells

7)      Chives can irritate the digestive system and damage red blood cells

8)      Rat and mouse poison can cause severe symptoms and may be fatal

9)      Flowers (Lilies, azaleas, rhododendrons, tulips, poinsettias and daffodils)

10)   Household cleaners may cause stomach upset, depression or chemical burns
